  Using FTP in Netscape Navigator to upload and download files.
Note: The procedure for downloading files listed below will work with almost any version of Netscape Navigator for Windows, Mac OS, or Linux, but the uploading procedure will only work using Netscape Navigator version 2.0 or above.

To transfer files via FTP in Netscape Navigator, follow these steps:
  • Choose File menu,
  • Open Page...
  • In the "Location" field, type a URL like the following
For example, if your username is username, and you want to reach your account enter: ftp://username@ftp.trommerinc.net/ , or ftp://username@ftp.track-it-wms.net/
Note: Do not close the URL with a / , or you will connect to the root directory rather than your home directory.

You will be prompted for your password. After you supply the password, you will see the contents of your home directory on the remote machine. To change directories, click the appropriate yellow folder icon.

To download a file on a PC:
Hold down Shift, and click the file. A dialog box will appear.
Choose the folder in which to put the file and click the Save button.

To download a file on a Mac
:
Click and hold the mouse button over the link. A pop-up menu will appear.
Select Save this link as... and choose the folder where you want to save the file.

To upload a file, on a PC or a Mac

Choose File menu...
select Upload File... A dialog box will appear
find the file you want to upload and select it
click Open. The file will upload to the directory you opened in Navigator.
